Ingredients
  

Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for juiciness
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Toppings
  • shredded lettuce
  • diced tomatoes
  • shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • sour cream
  • cilantro
  • lime wedges

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tbsp of olive oil.
  2. Sauté onions for 2–3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add ground beef and break it apart with a wooden spoon.
  5. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and stir until evenly coated.
  6. Pour in tomato sauce and beef broth; stir to combine.
  7. Simmer for 6–8 minutes until liquid reduces and beef is deeply flavored. Season with salt and pepper.

Notes
