Ingredients
  

Sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar the sweet foundation of the sauce
  • 1/4 cup flour helps the sauce thicken
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Ribs
  • 3 pounds pork spareribs

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and flour. Stir to blend evenly without clumps.
  2. Add water, vinegar, soy sauce, and ketchup. Stir well.
  3. Add ground ginger and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Heat the sauce mixture over medium heat. Stir until it comes to a boil and thickens.
  5. Place pork spareribs in crockpot. Spread evenly.
  6. Pour the thickened sauce over the ribs. Ensure all ribs are coated.
  7. Cook on low for 6–8 hours until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

Notes

Turn ribs halfway through for more even flavor. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or coleslaw. Leftovers are even tastier the next day!
