Method
- Preheat your smoker to 200°F (93°C) or oven to 250°F (120°C).
- Spread Saltine crackers in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Drizzle the BBQ mixture over the crackers. Gently toss to coat each cracker evenly. They should be glossy, not soggy.
- Smoke crackers at 200°F (93°C) for 45–60 minutes, or bake at 250°F (120°C) for 30–40 minutes until crisp and slightly darkened.
- Cool completely before serving to ensure maximum crunch.
