  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
Gravy and Assembly
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz each)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard optional but recommended

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 8 oval patties.
  2. (Optional) In a skillet over medium heat, brown the patties on both sides for about 2 minutes per side.
  3. Place sliced onions on the bottom of the slow cooker. Arrange patties on top.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Pour over patties.
  5. Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or on High for 3–4 hours.
  6. Serve patties hot with gravy over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Notes

Make ahead, freeze for later, or swap with ground turkey for a lighter version. For thicker gravy, add a cornstarch slurry at the end.
