Ingredients

  • 500 g smoked ham diced
  • 500 g green beans fresh or frozen
  • 4 potatoes peeled and chopped
  • 750 ml chicken broth or water

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef’s Knife

Method

  1. Place the chopped potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Add the green beans and diced ham on top.
  3. Pour the chicken broth over all the ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. Once the potatoes are tender and the flavors have blended, stir gently.
  6. Serve hot with dinner rolls or cornbread if desired.

Notes

For the best flavor, use quality smoked ham. Adjust the amount of broth depending on whether you prefer a stew-like consistency or a thicker side dish. Taste before adding extra salt, as ham can already be quite salty.
