Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Arrange biscuit dough pieces evenly over the cheese layer.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and cooked through. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option, add corn or black beans for extra texture, or use crescent roll dough instead of biscuits. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
