Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb smoked sausage sliced
  • 12 oz pasta penne or rotini
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese optional but recommended

Method
 

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the sliced smoked sausage. Cook until browned and slightly crisp.
  2. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until vegetables are soft and fragrant.
  3. Pour in pasta, chicken broth, and diced tomatoes. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and shredded cheese. Let everything melt and combine into a creamy sauce.
