  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 500 g ground beef lean preferred
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 400g can
  • 250 g dry spaghetti broken in half
  • 3 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs dried blend

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until soft and fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Cook for 2–3 minutes to deepen flavor.
  4. Add dry spaghetti (broken in half), beef broth, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring often, until pasta is tender and sauce has thickened.
  6. Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes before serving. Optional: top with grated Parmesan.

Notes

Customize by adding vegetables like mushrooms, carrots, or zucchini. For a lighter version, use ground turkey or whole wheat pasta. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
