  • 1 tbsp oil for coating before baking
Sweet Rub
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • optional cayenne or chili flakes for heat

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice hot dogs into thick chunks and score lightly for extra caramelization.
  3. Toss hot dogs with a little oil and Sweet Rub (salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika).
  4. Spread on baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes until slightly crisp.
  5. Meanwhile, combine BBQ sauce, butter, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl to make the glaze.
  6. Toss baked hot dogs in the glaze and return to oven for 10–15 minutes until sticky and caramelized.

Notes

Try variations like maple-mustard glaze, spicy jalapeño, or cheesy burnt ends. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
