Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts about 700g
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup flour or cornstarch for extra crisp
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • chopped parsley or green onions optional garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. Lightly coat in flour or cornstarch.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Stir in honey, garlic, and soy sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.
  4. Return cooked chicken to skillet and coat with sauce. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
  5. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

For extra crispiness, use cornstarch instead of flour. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar or a dollop of sour cream for variation. Leftovers store well and reheat best in a skillet. Customize with your preferred cut of chicken or garnishes!
