  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
Pizza Sauce
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes preferably San Marzano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp oregano dried
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella preferably whole-milk
  • 20 slices pepperoni cup-and-char preferred
  • fresh basil leaves optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Pizza Stone
  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Rolling Pin

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, olive oil, sugar, and salt. Stir in the flour and knead until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
  2. To make the sauce, sauté minced garlic in olive oil, add crushed tomatoes, oregano, and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  3. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone inside for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough, spread a thin layer of sauce, sprinkle mozzarella, and layer with pepperoni slices.
  5. Slide the pizza onto the hot stone and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven, rest for 2 minutes, garnish with basil if desired, then slice and serve.

Notes

Use cold dough for easier shaping. Don’t overload toppings. For best flavor, try cup-and-char style pepperoni. Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in a skillet or air fryer.
