- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, olive oil, sugar, and salt. Stir in the flour and knead until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- To make the sauce, sauté minced garlic in olive oil, add crushed tomatoes, oregano, and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone inside for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough, spread a thin layer of sauce, sprinkle mozzarella, and layer with pepperoni slices.
- Slide the pizza onto the hot stone and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, rest for 2 minutes, garnish with basil if desired, then slice and serve.
Notes
Use cold dough for easier shaping. Don’t overload toppings. For best flavor, try cup-and-char style pepperoni. Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in a skillet or air fryer.
