Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Halloween Toppings
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini Halloween marshmallows or ghost-shaped if available
  • candy eyes for decoration
  • chocolate cookies for crumbling into 'dirt'
  • decorative icing optional, for spider webs or tombstones

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate chips together. Stir in the sugars until glossy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in flour and cocoa powder until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set but center is fudgy.
  6. Cool completely before decorating. Top with marshmallows, candy eyes, chocolate spiderwebs, and cookie tombstones.

Notes

These brownies can be made ahead of time and decorated later. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Freeze undecorated brownies if needed and decorate after thawing.
