Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 3 cans Atún Elite (Safe Catch Tuna) drained completely
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 lemon juice only
  • 1 tbsp Creole or Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch
  • 0.5 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
For the Tartar Sauce
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickles finely chopped
  • 1 tsp capers chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 lemon juice only
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Drain the tuna and place it in a bowl. Add eggs, mayo, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Creole seasoning, parsley, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Mix until well combined and firm enough to shape.
  3. Divide into 3–4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk all tartar sauce ingredients together. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Serve the tuna patties hot on buns with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce—or over salad for a lighter option.

Notes

Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if desired. These patties also freeze well before cooking—great for meal prep!
