Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1 lb chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
Firecracker Sauce
  • 1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp vinegar optional
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
  • 2 scallions sliced

Method
 

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and crispy on all sides.
  3. In a small bowl, mix sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, chili flakes, and vinegar.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve hot over rice or with your favorite side.

Notes

Adjust chili flakes to control the spice level. For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce. You can also substitute tofu for a vegetarian variation.
