Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds steak sirloin or chuck, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1.5 pounds baby potatoes
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Method

  1. Cut the steak into large bite-sized chunks and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Place the baby potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic over the potatoes.
  4. Place the seasoned steak pieces on top of the vegetables.
  5. In a bowl, mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and olive oil, then pour the mixture over the steak and potatoes.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the steak is tender and the potatoes are soft.
  7. About 20 minutes before serving, add butter and sprinkle dried thyme over the top.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

If the sauce seems thin at the end of cooking, mash one or two potatoes into the liquid to naturally thicken the gravy.
