  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips mix of milk and dark
Reindeer Decorations
  • 24 mini pretzels for antlers
  • 24 mini chocolate chips for eyes
  • 12 red M&Ms for noses

Equipment

  • Muffin Tin
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl. Add melted butter, eggs, sugars, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips evenly.
  6. Scoop batter into muffin tin and bake for 20–22 minutes. A toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool muffins completely before decorating with pretzels for antlers, chocolate chips for eyes, and red M&Ms for noses.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for sweetness. To keep decorations in place, use melted chocolate as 'glue'. These muffins freeze well and reheat beautifully.
