- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl. Add melted butter, eggs, sugars, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture. Do not overmix.
- Stir in chocolate chips evenly.
- Scoop batter into muffin tin and bake for 20–22 minutes. A toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
- Cool muffins completely before decorating with pretzels for antlers, chocolate chips for eyes, and red M&Ms for noses.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for sweetness. To keep decorations in place, use melted chocolate as 'glue'. These muffins freeze well and reheat beautifully.
