  • 1.5-2 lbs beef steak chuck or round
  • 2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 2 onions large, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • fresh thyme or parsley optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Cut the steak into large chunks for even cooking.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the steak pieces for added flavor (optional).
  3. Place sliced onions and mushrooms at the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Add the seared steak on top of the vegetables.
  5. Mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika, then pour over the ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until the steak is tender.
  7. Stir gently before serving and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of cream or red wine at the end. The dish pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles and tastes even better the next day.
