Method
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until just before al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and let simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Add red pepper flakes if using. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Toss until well coated. Simmer for 2 minutes to let the sauce cling.
- Serve hot. Garnish with fresh basil and more Parmesan if desired.
Notes
Want a protein boost? Add grilled chicken or shrimp. Leftover veggies? Toss them in! Want it even creamier? Stir in a tablespoon of cream cheese. For a vegan version, use coconut cream and vegan Parmesan.
