Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut off the top third of the bread loaf. Hollow out the inside to make a shell. Save the insides for later use.
- In a bowl, mix cooked chicken, cream cheese, sour cream (if using), minced garlic, butter or oil, herbs, salt and pepper. Fold in any optional veggies if using.
- Spoon the filling into the hollowed-out loaf and top generously with shredded cheese.
- Place on a baking sheet, cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–12 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
Use leftover rotisserie chicken to save time. Add chili flakes or BBQ sauce for flavor twists. Cube the leftover bread center for homemade croutons.
