Ingredients
  

Mashed Potato Topping
  • 1.5 lbs potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Cheese Topping
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil and mash the potatoes with butter and milk until creamy and smooth.
  3. In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant, then add ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix in peas and carrots.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish. Layer the mashed potatoes on top and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and slightly browned. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to mix cheeses, add herbs like thyme or rosemary, or try ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
