Ingredients

Cheesy Cabbage Bake Ingredients
  • 1 medium green cabbage chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Baking Dish

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Boil the cabbage for about 5 minutes until slightly tender. Drain well.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant.
  4. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet. Stir in paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add half the cheddar cheese and half the mozzarella cheese. Stir until melted and creamy.
  6. Place the drained cabbage into a greased baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the cabbage and mix gently.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, add cooked bacon, sausage, or shredded chicken. To make it low-carb, skip the breadcrumbs. Freshly shredded cheese melts best.
