  • 12 oz pasta penne or rotini, cooked al dente
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage cooked and drained
  • 2 cups pizza sauce or marinara
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese divided
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta until just al dente and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage with Italian seasoning and garlic. Drain the fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, meat, pizza sauce, half of the mozzarella, and parmesan.
  4. Layer half of the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Add toppings like pepperoni or veggies. Add the remaining pasta mixture on top.
  5. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  6. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
