Main Ingredients
  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls 12 to 15 count, sliced in half horizontally
  • 8-10 slices deli ham or more if preferred
  • 8-10 slices cheese cheddar, Swiss, or preferred
Topping Mixture
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard optional
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds optional
  • 1 pinch garlic powder or onion powder to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190 °C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves together like a loaf.
  3. Layer ham and cheese on the bottom half of the rolls. Replace the top half and press gently.
  4. Mix melted butter with Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and garlic/onion powder. Brush over the top of the rolls.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5–7 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  6. Slice between rolls to serve. Enjoy warm.

Notes

Make ahead tip: Assemble up to 6 hours before and refrigerate. Bake when ready. For variety, swap cheese types or add thin-sliced veggies like pickles or onions.
